I came across a news article yesterday about a woman in China who was forced to abort her baby 7 months into her pregnancy. Apparently she already had a child and violated the state's one child policy. More precisely she couldn't pay the head tax for an extra child. Whatever the reason the government officials had, they induced the labour and the baby was a stillborn. It is outrageous. To me especially, because if you think about it, Emilia was born when she was a 6 months old "fetus". Today she's a happy, thriving baby. That baby also had a chance to live a life, yet they let him die because his parents couldn't afford a $6000 fine for having a second baby.
